A dangerous offender hearing for a Sudbury man with a violent criminal history will begin on March 1.

The hearing for Jean-Claude Breton, 38, who has been in custody for more than four years, will be held at the Sudbury Courthouse.

Breton has been waiting to be sentenced for almost three years.
In 2020, the provincial Attorney General’s office gave the Sudbury Crown attorney’s office the go-ahead to seek dangerous offender status for Breton.
The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has since delayed the hearing.
