Wajid Khan's family

Wajid Khan was born to tabla player Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur.

The singer-composer is the younger brother of composer Sajid Khan, with whom he composed several hit numbers.

Career in Bollywood

Wajid debuted as a music composer in Bollywood with Salman Khan's Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya in 1998 along with his elder brother Sajid Khan.

They composed one song, Teri Jawani Badi Mast Mast Hai, for the film. Following year, the composer duo were offered to give music for four songs in Salman Khan's Hello Brother.
